Magic Mushrooms

I'm a savage, blood thirsty bastich! There are only a few non-meaty food that I like. From top of the list:

  • Chillies
  • Tofu
  • Mushrooms
  • Kimchi

With my folks away for the month, I've to prepare my own meals if I'm eating in. I hate rice, so the rice cooker has been on holiday with my folks too. My regular diet so far were mainly noodles, cooked in all sorta ways I know, clear soup, spicy dry, creamy soup, cold etc.

This weekend, for a change, I'd prepared for myself an all mushroom dinner. 1st, I bought some Portobello mushrooms. Then, I slowly worked towards what I'm gonna do to 'em. Actually, I'd totally no idea how to prepare these fungi, I'm using myself as a "Lab Rat" to try out all the ways that popped up in my mind.

Ingredients: The Fungi, Potatoes, Soft Cheese, Feta Cheese with Herbs, Mozzarella Cheese, Garlics, Corn Beef, Olive Oil & Balsamic Vinegar.

As in most cooking shows, due to time constrain, we cut to removing the finished products from the oven after 10mins @ 250˚C! *fact is I'm freakin' lazy to type...

Corn Beef with Mozzarella (left), Feta Cheese (top) & Mashed Potato with Mozzarella (right)

Garlic & Balsamic Vinegar (left) & Soft Cheese with Pepper (right)

I have to admit...they look...err...yacky, but they smelled good. As for taste...I ranked them:

  1. Corn Beef with Mozzarella - tasted like a juicy pizza

  2. Feta Cheese - I like the light herbal fragrance

  3. Soft Cheese with Pepper - a little plain, needed some more spice

  4. Mashed Potato - the combination didn't really worked out

  5. Garlic & Balsamic Vinegar - mistake...shouldn't have used vinegar instead of lemon

After the juicy mushrooms, I still had rooms in my stomach, & left over ingredients. I then took out a slice of bread & tried to make a Bonjour Pizza. But I didn't have any tomato sauce or ketchup, so I used sweet chili sauce instead...another mistake...the Italian uses tomato sauce for a reason...

Looked like a Mini Pizza but tasted like crap...

People! Never ever settle for a substitute...especially things that you put in your mouth...*bleh~ Hmm...maybe I'll try messin' with bloody flesh next weekend!

Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith...aftershock...

After the Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith Opening, Master Gene & Commander Wing suggested for us to meet up & have a photo session somewhere in the "wilderness"...of Pasir Ris.

This Vesak Day long weekend Sunday was a perfect day for it. So we decided to meet @ Master Gene's place @ 1000hrs & he'll lead us to the locations! Commander Wing offered Master Mok & myself a ride in his "Speeder". The turnout, Master Gene, Commander Wing, Steve of Tatooine, Master Mok & me. Lanvince chickened out as usual!

While getting geared up, we took a tour in Master Gene's Playhouse, admiring his collections.

Then, off we went to the 1st location - Pasir Ris Canal!? I thought we'd decided to leave this spot out...!?...Since we were there, what the heck! Just do it!

"V" for Vinz!

By noon, after messin' with drain water...we moved on to somewhere in between Endor & Dagobah.

About 20mins later, Steve gotta leave to pick up his little gal. The 4 of  us continued with the shoot as well as blood donations...to the wild pests...Good thing I was well protected by my Sith Outfit! It's "Good" to be "Bad" ya!?

Around 1400hrs our little nature expedition came to an end. What followed was a Fanboyz day out! We visited Master Mok's Gallery, then Commander Wing's Showcase! Damn! They're all so neat...*look @ my pig sty...blackout~~ Then to China Square we went. Toyz!!!

Master Mok's Gallery (L), Cpt Wing's Showcase (R)

SFX will be added to the pix we took earlier. Here's another sneak peek...

Arrived, my new nephew has! (Yoda lingual...will stay on a while...)

I was still snoozin' away @ 0825hrs on the morning of 20.05.2005 because I was on leave, & I only went to bed at 0535hrs...My phone rang & rang & rang~...

I got up looked @ the caller ID with my blurry eyes, then crawled out to the living room to answer the long distance call from Argentina. It was my mom, called to ask some stupid questions like why wasn't I home the night before when she called at 2300hrs!?

*Hello~!!! When was I ever home that early!? Sheesh~*

Then, instead of she telling me, I had to ask whether Monica's baby has arrived? Yes! He has arrived safe & sound, the day Star Wars Episode III Officially Opens! Yay! I'm an uncle again! It happened probably while I was watching Star Wars Episode III! A Star Wars Nephew!

Monica did mentioned to me about the baby's name but my brain by default, had erased it...sorry sis...you know me, there ain't no room for babies' info on my mind!

Anyway, congratulation to you & Daniel! Send me some pictures yah? Take Care~

Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith (PG)

Rating:★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy
Ok, I'm not gonna waste time writing about the story outline. If you don't know anything about Star Wars, "Get Out"!

I was very skeptical about this movie when I was about to watch it for the 1st time last Sunday. True enough, it's not all good as some Star Wars fans had wished.

For the younglings, this may be the best Star Wars because they only know EPI, II & III. As for veteran Star Wars fans, "lots of room for improvement, this movie has..."

To me, the most impressive sequences are the Space Aerial Dog Fight at the opening, & the Climatic Lightsaber Duel between Obi Wan Kenobi & Anakin Skywalker. The Ultimate best part has to be - "No Stupid Jar Jar Binks goofy scenes", but it'll be even better if I can see the demise of this pain in the ass amphibian!

Maybe I'm too demanding but Revenge of the Sith seemed to have more let down than satisfaction. Bad acting is a known fact, so I'm not gonna elaborate.

The relationship between Padme & Anakin is less marshy this time but not touching at all...Any scene with Padme is sooo~ boring! Lucas is not good at delivering emotional scene, he can't get his actors to express feelings through their eyes; Natalie had done it in Closer but not here...(also a good example - Spiderman II), & at the same time there's still no chemistry between Natalie Portman & Hayden Christensen.

The CloneTroopers looks really cool with their different armor designs, but they are all a waste of money because you won't really see them in action. Also, I'm really disappointed with ILM CGI Dept for the faces of CloneTroopers...looks like something out of a PS1 game...

The Darkside is not dark enough in this episode. EP I seemed to have the best villain. Darth Vader, Darth Tyranus, General Grevious & even Darth Sidious didn't appear to be as fearsome as Darth Maul.

The biggest let down has to be the destruction of the Jedi Order...damn...it was so brief, that even Jar Jar Binks had more screen time than them...Lucas failed to make me feel sad about the Jedis' "supposedly" tragic end...

This Finale to the Star Wars epic has put most pieces of the puzzle in place except for -

- Who is Master Sifo-Dyas, who killed him & who in his place, make the order for CloneTroopers?

- Who's Anakin's father really? No hocus pocus Mother Mary bullshit! &

- Where are the young Han Solo, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian etc...?

I was hoping that Boba Fett will disguise himself as 1 of the CloneTrooper & helps Anakin to kill Mace Windu in vengeance for Jango Fett, thus explain the relationship between Boba Fett & Darth Vader in ESB...don't you think it'll be interesting?

Although, I complain alot, it's still a movie worth watching. "Once" for everybody & at least "Twice" for Star Wars fans! Try to catch it in Digital, it's better!

Director: George Lucas
Writer(s): George Lucas, Jonathan Hales
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Oz, Ian McDiarmid, Jimmy Smiths, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Hayden Christensen

2 stars for Star Wars, 1 for the Aerial Dog Fight, 1 for all the Lightsaber Duels & -1 for how much better this could have been...

i羊牯 (iSuckers)

Original Journal - ultravinz.multiply.com

It's 12 May 2005. By now, our effort to battle the movie ticket price hike has been proven futile...well...think about it...who the fuck will take us seriously if some idiots signed off like this: "5172. Bala - *burp*"!? *fuckin' idiots!!!

One thing for sure, things can only get worst from now! We have showed the Biz world that we are all 羊牯(suckers)! Fuck us! Rape us! Yet we never resisted & keep coming back for more...

As I've mentioned earlier, cinemas' snack concession stand are rippin' us off! Here's to prove my point!

Star Wars Combo!!!...big fuckin' deal~

Do you guys know how much is this combo?

$10.00!!!

And just how much are they supposed to be? Check this out:

  • Pack of Pop Corns from Carrefour - $2.45

  • Pack of Twisties from Carrefour - $1.25, NTUC - $1.00

  • Large Coke from McDonald's - $2.20, 7Eleven - $2.00

  • Star Wars Poster (As they mentioned) - FREE

Highest Total - $5.70

Just how much do they ROB? You do the maths! Also, an ass"O" on TV made a price comparison of our movie tickets with US, Japan, EU, HK etc...I really wanna shout into his Fuck-Face, "Why don't you make a salary comparison!? You Fuckin' ass"O"!"

I've watched Sin City on vcd & it's a great movie, & "Yes" it's pirated!!! I used to be very against movie piracy...but I was stupid then...I thought I was fighting for justice, turned out I was but a pawn on the biggest pirate's chess board.

I'm totally disgusted by my former self. In-order to cleanse my sins, I will not watch movies at GV, Shaw or Eng Wah if I have a choice. Cinelesiure, DVDs, VCDs & pirated movie dics will be my allies.

By trying to suck another 50 cents out of me, they lose $6.50 for every movie I passed. That's for attempting to further make a 羊牯 out of me!

"Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith" Opening!

By the time you guys read this, I'd watched it 4 times already! You may think "What the *doot...!?" but this time it's not about the movie anymore, it's the company of Friends!

Master Mok had arranged a 1630hrs as well as a 1940hrs show! 1630hrs being the 1st public screening, we wanna be in it, & @ the same time for Madi who couldn't make for the 1940hrs showtime. *anyway, I only got into the cinema @ around 1650hrs..."tang-Q" huh, youse know who youse are...luckily this is not my 1st screening...

Yah! Smile Somemore!

Show ended @ 1845hrs. By now, the party @ the garden had already begun! Free Heineken Booze (but I don't drink...)! Familiar faces all over! Some old Cosmic friends, some from the earlier Sunday & Monday screenings, Falcon Hangar pals & some new happy faces! One thing for sure, everybody's in a "high mood"!

The Cosmic Link!

Photos below courtesy of Master Mok! Click here for more!

Hampers were given out to 3 most creative costumes! I have to say, they deserved every bit of the reward! And my personal favorite is the AT-ST (Scout Walker)!

The Winners! Vader, R2-Dee~Dum~ & AT-ST!

Check out the AT-ST details!

So Cute~ she attracts many 怪叔叔 (weird uncle)! Hahaha~

If the Empire had Cute AT-ST like this in ROTJ, not only will the ewoks lose the Battle of Endor, they'll lose their girl fans also! *Boohoo~ for the stinkin' ewoks!

Overall, the party was only ok...still we had our own fun despite the bad Party MC. As of the previous screenings, we were still treated like celebrities! Photos! Photos! & More Photos!

Wing (L) in X-Wing Pilot Gear (home made - Cool~), a Fan & Steve (R)

Aren't they the coolest?

When people got tired of us...We Forced them into taking pictures with us! *It must be the air that went into our heads! Hee~

This time we were well seated way before the showtime but the camera flashes didn't end here! They attracted so much attentions that the GV staffs had to come around to "confiscate" some...of course they returned them after the show lah...

On Senator Sharon's request...

2hrs & 20mins later...we were still in GV Grand! More photos requests & discussions! Until it gotten too late & we had to end the day in an "anti-climatic" way...dinner @ MacDonald's...Why don't they have a Burger King in Great World City!!!???

Me tryin' to hold the junk food down...

"Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith" Gala Charity Premiere!

The Celebration didn't end after the Preview on Sunday (15 May 2005). What follows thru @ GV Grand on Monday is like a Sequel, only on a bigger scale! Too bad...not all of us can attend...even myself was a substitute because Master Gene was ill...but I'm glad that I sent Bobby's Direct Courier for the collection of Master Gene's ticket!

I brought my outfit & Lightsaber to the office that day. After work...I turned myself to the Darkside & became Darth Vinz...

I was there @ 2000hrs. No sign of Master Mok, Master Lai & Senator Jo...Only the guys from 501st Legion & FanForce...a whole lot of 'em!!!

The Galactic Empire

Boba Fett & 501st Legion flag bearer

Like I said, this is on a bigger scale...not only by the Fans turnout, there were like lots of journalists, photographers & people who had no business there at all...juz there to crowd out the narrow place!

Even Lord Vader couldn't stand the crowd & had to dash out to catch a breather...

Since I'm in an Events Management company, I find that GV lacks the ability to guide & control the crowd. Useful signages & ushers were no where to be seen...This is very bad especially when the Pre-Sor-Den of...eh...something is the V-VIP of this event!

Who's the V-VIP? You be the Judge!

*a little on the side - notice any similarity between the Pre-sor-den & Classic Yoda?

*they're both puppets!

This nite is for Star Wars & Star Wars only! Everybody or anybody not in Costume is nobody! I'd seen it happened. People wanted to have photos with us from left, right, center, while ignoring the mediacorps artists! Hah! That's because we're closer to Hollywood than any of them ever gonna be! We are the Stars! *now I know how Twins are feeling...having to pose for photo on every corner they turn...

*here's some pictures from Master Mok's Collection!

Darth Vinz, Master Lai, Master Mok, Royston Loh (of FIRST magazine) &...his special fwen behind...

Me, hidden at the back...no Lightsaber...'coz someone borrowed it...

A photo with Ace the photographer

Everybody wanna have a picture with the real STARS!

A nite to remember! What a way to conclude The Star Wars Epic! My Thanks to Master Mok & Master Gene!

May the Force Be With You!
