Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith (PG)

Rating:★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy
Ok, I'm not gonna waste time writing about the story outline. If you don't know anything about Star Wars, "Get Out"!

I was very skeptical about this movie when I was about to watch it for the 1st time last Sunday. True enough, it's not all good as some Star Wars fans had wished.

For the younglings, this may be the best Star Wars because they only know EPI, II & III. As for veteran Star Wars fans, "lots of room for improvement, this movie has..."

To me, the most impressive sequences are the Space Aerial Dog Fight at the opening, & the Climatic Lightsaber Duel between Obi Wan Kenobi & Anakin Skywalker. The Ultimate best part has to be - "No Stupid Jar Jar Binks goofy scenes", but it'll be even better if I can see the demise of this pain in the ass amphibian!

Maybe I'm too demanding but Revenge of the Sith seemed to have more let down than satisfaction. Bad acting is a known fact, so I'm not gonna elaborate.

The relationship between Padme & Anakin is less marshy this time but not touching at all...Any scene with Padme is sooo~ boring! Lucas is not good at delivering emotional scene, he can't get his actors to express feelings through their eyes; Natalie had done it in Closer but not here...(also a good example - Spiderman II), & at the same time there's still no chemistry between Natalie Portman & Hayden Christensen.

The CloneTroopers looks really cool with their different armor designs, but they are all a waste of money because you won't really see them in action. Also, I'm really disappointed with ILM CGI Dept for the faces of CloneTroopers...looks like something out of a PS1 game...

The Darkside is not dark enough in this episode. EP I seemed to have the best villain. Darth Vader, Darth Tyranus, General Grevious & even Darth Sidious didn't appear to be as fearsome as Darth Maul.

The biggest let down has to be the destruction of the Jedi Order...damn...it was so brief, that even Jar Jar Binks had more screen time than them...Lucas failed to make me feel sad about the Jedis' "supposedly" tragic end...

This Finale to the Star Wars epic has put most pieces of the puzzle in place except for -

- Who is Master Sifo-Dyas, who killed him & who in his place, make the order for CloneTroopers?

- Who's Anakin's father really? No hocus pocus Mother Mary bullshit! &

- Where are the young Han Solo, Boba Fett, Lando Calrissian etc...?

I was hoping that Boba Fett will disguise himself as 1 of the CloneTrooper & helps Anakin to kill Mace Windu in vengeance for Jango Fett, thus explain the relationship between Boba Fett & Darth Vader in ESB...don't you think it'll be interesting?

Although, I complain alot, it's still a movie worth watching. "Once" for everybody & at least "Twice" for Star Wars fans! Try to catch it in Digital, it's better!

Director: George Lucas
Writer(s): George Lucas, Jonathan Hales
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Christopher Lee, Samuel L. Jackson, Frank Oz, Ian McDiarmid, Jimmy Smiths, Anthony Daniels, Kenny Baker, Peter Mayhew, Hayden Christensen

2 stars for Star Wars, 1 for the Aerial Dog Fight, 1 for all the Lightsaber Duels & -1 for how much better this could have been...
