Mini Road Trip to Kulai 07 May 2005

After weeks of preparation, my parents finally embarked on their 26hrs flight journey to Argentina. They'll be there lookin' after Monica (my 2nd sis) before & after her delivery. For a month they'll be there! At first, I thought I'll be havin' the house to myself after they left...throw wild parties, movie marathons, blast movies & music every night...then a dreaded familiar face showed up...

My mom actually asked my so called "uncle" to watch the house (me to be precise)! Felt "Damn Fuck-Up"! Anyway, the Good thing is - since he's around, I'm not gonna lay a finger on any house chores! I ain't the man of the house, so Fuck-it!

Now back to the main subject. In order to save a S$1000, my folks took their flight from Malaysia - Johor - Senai Airport! For $1k, a little trouble of making the trip to Senai is nothing; furthermore, my cousin Ivy's husband LiangShen offered to drive us there. So I tagged along to send them off. It's been more than 5 years since I'd stepped into Malaysia.

Along with My parents, Ivy, LiangShen & me, my sis Rose & her husband Ben came as well. So the 7 of us set off to cross the border after lunch. At about 1530hrs, we reached Senai Airport. After unloading their luggages & seeing them off *bye~ 老豆, 老母, I thought we would be heading back to spore but our leader LiangShen, who was behind the wheel, suggested that we take a ride around & do some sightseeing.

D'oh! I thought to myself...I ain't got no S$ or RM$ with me...I didn't expect us to spend so much time here...but I didn't object because I have hours to kill before meeting Mok for NZ Film Fest @ GV Grand @ 2145hrs...

MarryBrown...so much memories...

We drove around aimlessly around until we reached Kulai. Our leader decided to pay his friend Lee (who is a used car dealer) a visit, & make him buy us coffee. We met the man, he led us to a kopitiam nearby & said that it's highly recommended. We sat in, ordered 2 Teh Tarik, 1 Teh, 1 Teh-O, 1 Coke & 1 Iced Teh-O

When our drinks arrived, LiangShen took a sip & said,

LiangShen: Eh! Lee! I thought you said that this place is highly recommended?! This taste terrible!

Lee: It is highly recommended! You asked me to buy you coffee right? They have the best coffee in town! The only problem is...you ordered Teh Tarik!

LiangShen: ......(-_-")

While they were chattin' on cars, I walked around & caught this...

It's a banner to call for all the Chinese to sign the petition against the Japanese for altering their history text books. Kinda sensible & strong racial spirit these Kulai Chinese have. When I looked back at spore chinese...95% of them probably can't even understand what the fuck was written on the banner...

After the tea break we continued our road trip with Lee's guidance. 1st stop a used plant yard where LiangShen saw some *ka'cing~ $$Biz$$~ opportunities! Me? Photos, photos & more photos lor...luckily I brought the cam with me!

Our ride seem so tiny amongst the monsters

I dunno why...but I like these "Links"

Leisure after biz, we came to a place call 花果山 (know in the Chinese legends as Monkey God's home). It's actually a famous temple in Kulai. I'm no friend of gods, so I went around shootin'...

Home of our holy Monkey...If you think it's not much to look @, you're wrong...

Surprise!

Man! That's a Big Ass tortoise! About 50cm in length!

After they were done with the prayers, we went to "site inspect" some landed properties...they seems to be interested because of the low property prices...as for me...*yawn~

As the sky turned dark, they still hadn't the intention of returning to spore...infact they wanted to stay for dinner & follow by KTV in Kulai..."Huh! Adoi! I've got to catch a movie later!", I said...I felt bad having to ruined their plan...but in the beginning, there wasn't a plan...

Right before we enter the JB custom, we stopped for a little roadside stores shopping. Damn! Things here are cheap!

Mok wanted a Road Trip through Malaysia states, this was like a warm up trip for me...I guess...I'm still not ready...
