The Island (PG)

Rating:★★★★
Category:Movies
Genre: Action & Adventure

A Michael Bay film, starring Ewan McGregor as Lincoln Six-Echo & Scarlett Johansson as Jordan Two-Delta. Not much publicity were done for a movie with such big names. Infact, the title "The Island" kinda reminded me of the dreaded survivor on tv (hate all these fuckin' cheap reality tvs), & the posters weren't really the attractive type...but you'll think otherwise after watching the movie!

A debate between morality & survivor. Set in the near future of 2015, a clone started to question his existence which led to the uncovering of a deadly secret. It so reminded me of our nkf scandals! If every sporean kept quiet, no questioning & took life as it was, we'll all be shipped to The Island one day...

If you've watched the trailer, you'll probably know what's the main plot...so the selling points for this movie were on the flow of the movie, action sequences & its cast.

Started off slow, then the pace began to pick up with all the actions. Sadly, I find that the ending wasn't as climatic as the highway chase sequence. The chase was well done. Not slow & draggy as Terminator III & more focused than Matrix Reloaded.

As for the cast, it's official, Steve Buscemi has reached the level of Super Supporting Actor (just like Morgan Freeman & Kevin Bacon), he brought much live into the movie. Ewan's performance was fairly good, but Scarlett despite her hotness, she was shadowed by Ewan(s) & Steve Buscemi. Sean Bean is still good when he's bad. Djimon Hounsou is cool & quiet, looking to be the next Denzel. *I can hear all the black sistahs go: Ahhh~

Director: Michael Bay
Writer(s): Caspian Tredwell-Owen, Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci
Cast: Ewan McGregor, Scarlett Johansson, Djimon Hounsou, Steve Buscemi, Michael Clarke Duncan, Sean Bean

1 Star for Michael Bay, 1 for Steve Buscemi, 1 for the Axtionz & 1 for "I question, therefor I exist".

Also, some deja vu: L-6E (OB-1) visits Kamino again...& J-2D is CK face!
